Main Farmhouse

We offer you a pleasant stay in an old stone farmhouse, built about two hundred years ago and restored in keeping with the original structures, thereby maintaining all the characteristics particular to country houses, such as the chestnut wood beams, roofs tiled with traditional Tuscan tiles and stone floors laid by hand, giving the house a traditional atmosphere. The large, carefully maintained garden surrounding the building and with views down to the coast is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature, or various outdoor activities, while guaranteeing guests the greatest privacy.

Small Farmhouse

The Mythos Cultural Association also has a second, smaller farmhouse, similarly built in stone and restored four years ago, again in keeping with the original building and re-using fine materials, including an antique fireplace and the stone door frame round the entrance. From the terrace, furnished with table and chairs, there is a splendid view over the hills of the Maremma and there is a private drive leading up to the house with wrought iron gate and parking space for two cars. On the ground floor of the farmhouse there is a living room with a small kitchen and two bedrooms, each with a bathroom and shower, and on the first floor there are another two bedrooms with bathroom and shower. It can accommodate up to nine people. Entirely independent of the main farmhouse, it offers an attractive and welcoming place for families or friends wishing to spend some leisure time away from the bustle of the city in which to relax and enjoy a tranquil corner of the Tuscan countryside. The swimming pool can be reached from the house along a short path and offers magnificent views across the hills of the Maremma.

The almost dream-like peace and calm atmosphere make it the ideal place for a perfect holiday.

Holiday in Tuscany

The Mythos Cultural Association arose from the desire and need to create an environment in which to seek spiritual serenity. Situated in a location offering a relaxing stay surrounded by nature, it promotes meetings with others and the possibility of participating in group activities such as Yoga, Bio-dance, Tai Chi, Martial Arts, Tantra and anything else that may help us to rediscover our inner balance and enter into harmony with our surroundings.

The Association promotes all forms of art, considering them as manifestations of our spiritual side, and thus provides the space for groups of artists, such as musicians or painters, to give expression to their art.

In order to promote the activities listed above, we provide a large studio (120 sq metres) with a flexible wooden floor, bathed in light flooding in from the huge windows, creating the right environment and atmosphere of tranquility to practice all the arts that require reflection and meditation, and thereby providing teachers with a suitable setting for their talks or seminars, flexible, well-conceived and focused on the needs of all.

The Association is based on a farm in the Comune of Scansano, in the province of Grossetto in the region of Tuscany known as the Maremma. Situated 350m above sea-level, it offers comfortable accommodation in two old stone farmhouses, both restored in accordance with the original structures and thereby maintaining the particular characteristics of country houses, such as the beams in chestnut wood, roofs tiled with traditional Tuscan tiles and stone floors laid by hand, giving the house a traditional atmosphere. In an idyllic setting, the coast lies within easy reach (the nearest beach is 30km away) and several medieval towns are close by, it offers magnificent, almost 360 degree views towards Monte Argentario, the island of Giglio and Monte Amiata. The nearest village, only 6km away, is famous for its locally grown wine, Morellino di Scansano.

We don’t only cater for groups – families and friends wishing to spend some time relaxing and enjoying themselves away from the pressures of city life in the midst of the beauty and calm of the Tuscan countryside will find a warm and welcoming environment, complete with a large swimming pool offering wonderful views over the hills of the Maremma and the opportunity to stay in the charming small stone farmhouse, independent and separate from the main house (see Casaletto).
